Do you think celebrities deserve as much recognition, attention, and money as we, as a society, give them? What do you think it says about our cultural values?

No, ut who listens to me!

I think that our, that is society's, values are terribly warped.

How do you feel when an adapted film's story deviates from the original material?

Cheated

The worst example, IMO, of this was the Disney version of Victor Hugo's, "Hunchback of Notre Dame"

But there are dozens ofothers.

President Kennedy once said, "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country." What can people do today to show support for the country?

Start by striking the word "today" from your statement.

This is meant specifically for the Citizens of the United States of America. The principles, however apply to all.

Write your congressman and ask him to introduce a bill reinstating Selective Service (the draft). The protection of our country is and should be the responsibility of all, not just a few that accept the call or that need the work.

Sit down and read the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

Go out and find someone that needs help and help them. Such things as helping a person carry their groceries or opening a door for them or picking up something that they have dropped. Continue to do such thing when ever you get a chance. One thing about helping people does more to make you feel good than it does them.

When you see some trash on the sidewalk, bend over and pick it up and throw in in a waste receptacle.

As you have time use a little of it to study the history of your country. A few hours a year in such a pursuit will result in a much better understanding of your country and your place in it.

Which musicians of the last two decades have had the most lasting impact on music as we know it today?

We have music today.  Must have been on a day when my radio was off.

Have you even had a moment, an hour, or a day that renewed your faith in the fundamental goodness of humankind?

Yes, often where I live, which is in a very rural area. If you have car trouble or a flat tire almost everyone will stop to help. If you need fire wood people will show up to help you cut it and so on.

However when I go to a big city like Denver, I see nothing but hate and greed.

What do you think the lower age limit should be for LiveJournal and other social networks, and why?

There should be no age limit!

If they are old enough to understand what is written they are old enough to read it!

Do you believe in UFOs? Do you have a gut dis/belief or do you rely on empirical proof?

I am about as sure as I can be that civilizations much more advanced than our own exist, probably millions if not billions (Thousand Million) of them.

However I doubt very much that any of them have ever visited the Earth. The long distances make that kind of travel very very improbable if not impossible. Should we ever have contact with any of them it will likely be via radio, or some form of laser communications.

What was your worst travel experience ever, and why?

A British Air Flight from Rome to England, but come to think of it I have never had a good flight on BA.

A flight many years ago from Rome to London, where I started by telling the taxi driver in Rome that I was in a hurry. It was early in the Morning around 0700 and the taxi driver didn't even slow for red lights. I get to the airplane and first thing i notice there are a number of screws missing on the fairing between the wing and the fuselage. Once in the cabin there are people sacked out across the rows and the Stewardess says go find a seat, forget my asinged seat as someone was asleep there. There were dirty food trays in the aisle so you had to step over them, and so on and so forth. Eventually I had to wake someone up to get a seat.

That was a good many years ago and I wonder if the union between BA and Iberia will result in a better BA, I don't see how it could be much worse.

Some animal rights activists are fighting to replace the term 'owner' with 'guardian' to convey a more balanced relationship between a person and her or his pet. Do you agree or disagree with the importance of this mission?

I would call it idiocy, plain and simple!
